"O: An Invitation to Introspection"

The project title "O" - pronounced as "circle" - represents a symbolic boundary that separates an enclosed space from its surroundings. This simple yet profound shape serves as the starting point for a multifaceted exploration.

The seating design acts as a transition, inviting participants to synchronize with the work and the environment. Inspired by the cocoon, the seats are crafted with a mesh fabric material, creating a swinging, suspended movement that can release the pressure of the audience. The interconnected individual seats with covers offer a sense of private space, encouraging introspection.

The constructive framework of the work visually references the fencing of a sports ground, evoking a sense of strong protection, safety, and possibly even confinement. To balance this impression, organic wooden beams and soft textile cocoons are integrated with the metal frame, softening the potentially rigid appearance.

Similarly, the contrast between the sand-covered inner circle and the concrete finish of the "outside" floor creates a tactile juxtaposition. The tightly wrapped cocoon seats also induce a slightly uncomfortable sensation, prompting the audience to re-evaluate their state of mind and continue their reflective journey.

Ultimately, "O" does not impose any specific experience or solution. Instead, it serves as an open-ended invitation for the audience to engage in their own process of self-exploration and discovery. The work aims to arouse curiosity and inspire the audience to find their own answers within the contemplative space it provides.
