Light and Shadows - Caravaggio • The Italian Baroque Master
This installation aims to create a multi-sensory experience for non-visual visitors to engage with a renowned painting. Rather than solely relying on the visual medium, we have developed a unique interpretive format to convey the various elements and roles within the artwork.
Visitors will encounter a tactile representation using diverse textures - smooth wood, rough concrete, and other materials. By tracing these textural contrasts, they can discern the painting technique, the interplay of light and shadow, and the distinct features of the subject matter.
Through this innovative sensory approach, we strive to "re-narrate" the great painting, allowing non-visual audiences to forge a deeper, more immersive connection with the artistic masterpiece. The installation invites them to explore, discover, and appreciate the work through a profoundly tactile and multidimensional encounter.
By transcending the visual realm, this project seeks to make art accessible and meaningful for a wider spectrum of visitors, fostering a more inclusive cultural experience.
